About Karlstejn Castle
Built by Charles IV to house the Bohemian Crown Jewels and holy relics. The Great Tower houses the Chapel of the Holy Cross with 128 panel paintings. Was never meant as a defensive structure but as a spiritual retreat. No woman was allowed to visit for 200 years.
