About Tsarevets Fortress

The primary fortress of the Second Bulgarian Empire. Baldwin I of Constantinople was imprisoned and allegedly killed here. The patriarchal cathedral was rebuilt in the 1980s. Perched on a hill surrounded by the Yantra River.
